CONCERNS EXPRESSED AT TOWN HALLS IN YAKIMA AND TRI-CITIES ABOUT LOSING HEALTH INSURANCE FORWARDED TO LAWMAKERS

  While the republican-led U.S. Senate once again takes up the issue of health care, the concerns expressed at recent town halls were sent to Senators Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell, and Representative Dan Newhouse.  The latest Republican proposal released July 13, 2017 will deeply cut Medicaid funding that is the safety net for the most vulnerable. It also allows insurers to sell skimpy insurance plans, and discriminates against people with pre-existing conditions.  This latest bill does maintain taxes on the rich but offers a major tax cut to health care companies.
